Elisabeth Shue on Creative Commons

I've been a huge fan of actress Elisabeth Shue for the past 20 years, so it was a big personal thrill to speak with her at length last night during the special screening of her director-husband's film "Teach" at a Creative Commons event in San Francisco.

We chatted about the third child she's expecting (at age 42!), my 6-year-old, Larry Lessig (she's a huge fan), the movie "Teach" (check out the original 90-minute version too, she suggested) — just about everything except Hollywood. For those not in the know, she starred in the films "Leaving Las Vegas" (for which she won an Oscar nomination for best actress), "The Karate Kid," "Hollow Man," "Palmetto," "The Trigger Effect," "Back to the Future 2 and 3," "Cocktail," and "Adventures in Babysitting," among others.

She consented to taping a quick video on behalf of Creative Commons, and she was gracious, charming and funny during the few minutes we spent on it. Her husband, Davis Guggenheim, is on the board of Creative Commons.
